Continuing its decisive journey towards sustainability, TBS is steadily advancing beyond the traditional energy sector. Demonstrating a firm commitment to solving contemporary environmental challenges, TBS has not only ventured into but is now transforming the waste management landscape.
Building on its significant acquisition of Asia Medical Enviro Services (AMES) in August 2023, TBS has taken another strategic leap. In December 2023, TBS, through its subsidiary PT Solusi Bersih TBS (SBT), a dedicated sub-holding for waste management business, successfully acquired ARAH. A leading entity in the management of medical waste, hazardous waste, domestic waste, and electronic waste, ARAH is set to enhance TBS's portfolio in waste management.
This acquisition aligns perfectly with TBS's ongoing strategy and the TBS2030 goals, particularly in reducing emission intensity as the company moves away from fossil fuel reliance. The integration of ARAH into TBS’s operations marks a significant expansion in the waste management sector. Under the umbrella of PT SBT, TBS aims to establish itself as a regional leader in integrated waste management, particularly in Southeast Asia.

This forward-looking approach not only demonstrates TBS's commitment to innovation in managing diverse waste types - including medical, hazardous, domestic, and electronic waste - but also underlines the company's dedication to minimizing its environmental footprint. With these strategic moves, TBS is paving a sustainable path forward, contributing to a greener, more sustainable future and reinforcing its role as a responsible corporate citizen in the environmental sector.
Building upon these strategic foundations, TBS has further reinforced its commitment to the TBS2030 goals by completing the 100% acquisition of Sembcorp Environment Pte. Ltd., (“SembEnviro”), a prominent waste management company based in Singapore on March 18, 2025. Renowned for its extensive expertise and robust operational capabilities in municipal solid waste management, recycling, and integrated environmental solutions, the acquisition of SembEnviro represents a pivotal step forward in TBS’s regional expansion strategy.

Through this strategic integration, TBS emphasizes its ambition to significantly scale up its waste management capabilities throughout Southeast Asia. By leveraging SembEnviro’s operational excellence, advanced technology platforms, and well-established customer base, TBS is poised to strengthen its position as a regional leader dedicated to addressing critical environmental challenges. This acquisition not only creates valuable operational synergies but also allows TBS to offer more comprehensive, efficient, and innovative waste management solutions aligned with regional and global sustainability standards.
With the combined strengths of AMES, ARAH, and now SembEnviro, TBS solidifies its market presence and expertise in integrated waste management, embedding sustainability deeper into its corporate strategy. This strategic acquisition underlines TBS’s long-term vision to drive transformative change within the environmental sector, fostering responsible growth, and making a tangible contribution towards a cleaner, greener future.
